Josh Gray-Heim

Owner + Master Stylist

With over 22 years of experience in the hair industry, Joshua Gray-Heim is a premier master stylist and the visionary behind JCo Salon, a luxury salon experience redefining personalized beauty and self-expression. A graduate of Carolina Academy, a Paul Mitchell Partner School in Gastonia, NC, Joshua holds advanced certifications in both Cosmetology and Cosmetology Instruction. His expertise is grounded in elite training with global leaders in the field—Paul Mitchell, Pivot Point, Toni & Guy, Redken, and most notably, the legendary Vidal Sassoon Academy, where he perfected the art of precision cutting, advanced color theory, and editorial styling.

Joshua’s talents extend far beyond the salon floor. His artistry has graced the runways, theater stages, and screens of both film and television. He has served as a wig designer and stylist for Cape Fear Regional Theater and the Gilbert Theater and contributed to numerous productions in film and TV. His high-profile work includes serving as a runway and stage stylist in Las Vegas for Paul Mitchell Systems, where he prepped and styled over 50 models—many of whom he finished live on stage before audiences of thousands, alongside some of the industry’s top hair and makeup artists.

As a master of transformative haircutting and custom color formulation, Joshua specializes in precision cuts, men’s grooming, and dimensional color. His approach balances timeless elegance with bold innovation, ensuring each guest’s style is as unique and intentional as they are. He draws inspiration from fashion, architectural design, and the expressive power of beauty, believing that hair is more than a style—it’s a frame for the most priceless artwork: the person themselves.

What sets Joshua apart is not just his artistry, but his ability to build deep, personal connections with his clients. He views the salon chair as a sanctuary—an opportunity to make guests feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Every appointment begins with a thorough consultation focused on hair history, lifestyle, and goals, laying the foundation for a collaborative transformation.

“Hair is the frame to the most priceless art a person owns—their face. My job is to ensure that frame enhances, not distracts. That it speaks of beauty, balance, and bold confidence.”

Outside of JCo Salon, community service and mentorship are central to Joshua’s mission. He serves as Vice President of Off-Road Outreach, a Fayetteville-based nonprofit supporting homeless and at-risk veterans with mobile services like hot showers, hygiene kits, and compassionate care. The organization lives by the motto: “From Combat to Community, Answering the Call to Serve.”

Joshua is also a passionate advocate for small business development. Through the Women’s Business Center, he mentors emerging entrepreneurs and shares practical strategies for launching and sustaining successful ventures. His active involvement in local business networks helps guide new business owners through the complexities of entrepreneurship.

He is also the co-founder of Carolina Drag Brunch, a vibrant event series that has become a beloved Fayetteville tradition. Many of its shows support veteran-focused charities, military families, and local LGBTQIA+ initiatives—bringing celebration and visibility to often underserved communities.

Adding to his multifaceted talents, Joshua is an accomplished author writing under the pen name JR Gray-Heim. Through his publishing company, Josadah Publishing, he empowers new authors to navigate the self-publishing world, offering mentorship rooted in creative freedom and authentic storytelling. At the heart of all his work lies a simple belief: true community is built through love, support, and meaningful connection.
